Registration & Examination of WorksRegistration The purpose of Registration is to document works attributed to Alexander Calder in the Calder Foundation Archive. Owners of works attributed to Alexander Calder may apply to register their works in the archive by completing an Application for Registration. In addition to the Application, we also ask that owners provide copies of letters, invoices, and other documents and information pertinent to the work. All materials submitted become the property of the Foundation. The Foundation registers works at its sole discretion. The submission of an Application for Registration does not guarantee the work will be registered. The Foundation does not provide information on works that are registered. Click here to download the Application for Registration in Adobe.pdf format. Examination The purpose of Examination is to obtain information about a work from the Calder Foundation. Owners of works attributed to Alexander Calder may apply to the Calder Foundation for examination of the work. The Calder Foundation does not charge a fee for examinations. For the Foundation to consider the examination of a work, the owner must submit an Application for Registration and a 4” x 5” Ektachrome, as well as a written request for an examination. If the Foundation agrees to examine the work, the owner will be provided with an Examination Agreement. The Examination Agreement must be completed and returned to the Foundation prior to the date of examination.
