Rather than being limited to a specific time period or type of work, curator Alexander S. C. Rower aimed to explore Calder’s intellect and intuitions on motion, intervention, variable composition, performance, and chance in Calder: Sculptor of Air. In a city known for Ancient and Renaissance art, the exhibition presented viewers with an opportunity to experience the artist’s work in an exciting and compelling way.
